What Are
Natural Diamonds

Diamond is the hardest known material to date.

Billions of years ago, deep below the earth's surface, a solid form of the element carbon with its atoms arranged in a crystal structure called diamond cubic. This structure bonds each atom to four others, creating the hardest and most conductive of all known natural materials.

Natural diamonds are created by nature, and require an unfathomable amount of pressure and heat, formed over the course of billions of years. The ideal environment for carbon atom compression for diamonds to be produced in nature, only exists 100 miles below the earth, where 2500 degree Fahrenheit temperature along with 725,000 pounds per square inch of pressure.

In areas where the conditions and temperatures have been ripe to create diamonds, these diamonds traveled through molten rock that erupted during volcanic activity, depositing the precious stone close to the earth's surface.

The 4Cs
For Diamonds

Why
Natural Diamond

Although there is virtually no difference between natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds to the naked eye, there are big differences in cost, value, rarity, and sustainability.

Natural diamonds - are believed to be the hardest known material to date, created by under the right temperature and pressure conditions deep within the earth’s mantle naturally.

Lab grown diamonds - are diamonds that use high-tech equipment under the supervision of experts to recreate the natural conditions of natural diamonds.

The difficult journey of diamonds gives the rarity why real diamonds have significant inherent value, which will continue to increase as the number of diamonds naturally available gets lower and lower.

A diamond is also the combination of the 4Cs, making all diamonds one-of-a-kind in the world. Therefore, diamonds are known to be a classic symbol of love and everlasting faithfulness.

1. Diamond Cut

Cut refers to the angle of the facets, symmetry, and reflective qualities of a diamond. Better cut of a diamond will result in more light reflection with more sparkle.

2. Diamond Color

Most diamonds have a bit of color. Color refers to the natural color or lack of color visible within a diamond, based on the GIA grade scale. Better quality diamonds are within the “colorless” and “near-colorless” range.

3. Diamond Clarity

Clarity is determined by the visibility of natural microscopic inclusions and imperfections within a diamond. The less imperfections a diamond has, the better its clarity.

4. Diamond Carat

Carat is the unit of measurement used to describe the weight of a diamond, not the size of it. It is often the most visually apparent factor when comparing diamonds.

What Is Diamond Shape?

Diamond shape refers to the external geometric appearance of a diamond. The 5 diamond shapes are: Round, Princess, Cusion, Marquise, Emerald.

Why do diamonds need certificates?
Or what is GIA cert diamonds?

Diamond Certificate

Diamond Certificates are issued by trusted grading laboratories such as Gemological Institute of America (GIA), American Gem Society (AGS), and Hoge Raad Voor Diamant (HRD) Antwerp. This detailed document contains information for each diamond’s carat weight, colour grade, clarity grade and cut grade. The final grading on the certificate determines the price of a diamond. Therefore you should always choose the diamond with the certificate for you to review the diamond closely before your purchase.

GIA Diamond Certification

GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is a non-profit, independent organization established in 1931. It is considered to be the world’s highest authority on diamonds, colored stones, and pearls.  The “4Cs” (Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat Weight) and the International Diamond Grading System was created by GIA in the 1940s and the system has been recognized and used worldwide throughout the years until now.The GIA certificate of a diamond or gem is certified by an unbiased gemologist, it assures the the buyer that the stone is certified by an professional institute that upholds the highest standards of science and integrity.
